We’d like to address some of the press on Mobile Spinach lately.
Mobile Spinach wants to emphasize that we stand ready to refund any customers in full if they encounter problems. We have always had a “refund anytime” policy. We are sorry if any customers have had problems and think that we’ve worked out the issues going forward.
First, it is Mobile Spinach’s policy to get authorization from local restaurants and merchants before publishing their offers on our website.
Second, we’ve had a few problems, mainly from deals we’ve published from 3rd party “deal providers” who contacted restaurants directly and acted as a middleman for Mobile Spinach.
We understood that these 3rd party deal providers promised us in writing that they had obtain permission from these restaurants in advance. We have learned, unfortunately, that was not accurate in many cases or that the restaurant owners forgot about these deals.
Also, many of these deals that came from these 3rd party deal providers were only valid for online redemption. The online nature was clearly shown on our website before, during and after the purchasing process. However, several consumers walked into merchants directly and therefore encountered problems with the redemptions.
Because of these issues, we have removed all 3rd party deals from our website this February. We will soon be taking proactive steps with our 3rd party deal providers to make sure that our customers and restaurants are taken care of before they encounter any more problems from outstanding vouchers.
There have been specific reports in the press about certain restaurants, and we feel that the facts are not completely accurate. No matter what, Mobile Spinach will make sure that our customers are taken care of and that both our customers and the restaurants who deal with us are treated fairly and honestly.
Mobile Spinach was founded to provide a way for local restaurants to offer deals for their customers that are both good for customers and importantly sustainable for the merchants. We look forward to continuing to do this.
Thank you,
Antonio Vitti, CEO
Mobile Spinach
To our customers,
We have recently heard from some of you that there have been problems redeeming deals at some of our merchants. Many of our deals have been for online delivery orders only, where you apply a coupon code at one of our online menu ordering partners to get the discount. However, there has been some confusion as people have gone to the merchant directly first and not being able to get the deal. We are working hard to improve our consumer experience and make this a better experience for everyone. We have always stood by ready to refund consumers in full for any problems they have with any of our deals. We have a refund anytime policy that is clearly stated on our website. If you have any problems redeeming any of our deals (whether online or direct in store deals) you can call us directly at 888-649-2675, or email us at support@mobilespinach.com and we will issue you a full refund immediately. We appreciate your patience as we work through these matters and look forward to the opportunity to serve you in the future.
We believe that because so many daily deals companies are calling and selling to local merchants that it is getting confusing for everyone. This industry grew rapidly in the last 1 to 2 years. We know everyone in this industry is trying their best and putting their best foot forward. We have been talking to the press and we look forward to media coverage of these issues. As this industry grows and evolves we hope to be a part of the solution.
Regards,
Mobile Spinach

Want to know what the EATS are in your area on the late tip? Here’s some help. :)
A little over one week ago, Mobile Spinach did a small 2 day consumer demand sourced test with 9 high end San Francisco restaurants. We didn’t have a prior relationship with these restaurants so we listed the deals as “pending” on our site. We don’t charge anyone’s card if the deal is pending, and it is our practice to provide refunds on unredeemed deals for any reason. Incidentally, nobody actually bought those deals.
It obviously didn’t work, but we talked to most of the 9 restaurants after a blog reported on our test.We got some great ideas from them, and they liked what we are doing… so we owe a ‘thank you’ to the press!
We are a small young company trying to figure out how to create an easy way for local merchants and consumers to interact, and we continue to work hard towards that goal. This experience has helped us realize that we need to do a better job of communicating to consumers, and we apologize to anyone who was confused by this test.
The deals on our site currently are good to go… they are all approved and ready to use.
Thank you for being part of Mobile Spinach.
Now this is love!
